numbernine

This band has been a large part of my life for the last couple of years. We’ve played loads of gigs all over the place, London, Southampton and of course Oxford too. It’s been loads of fun and a bit of a rollercoaster at times. When I tell people I’m in a band the first thing they ask is ‘what do you sound like’. Well that’s kind of a tricky question to answer, so we put our heads together and this is the best description we could come up with…

a one-off product of Oxford’s musical crucible, a spirit fused through the long, hot summer of 2003. Melodic, reflective, at times anthemic - numbernine sidesteps norms or uniforms of style, forging songs that strike out and surprise. Stripped bare rhythms meet with jarring sounds, soaring harmonies meet with cathartic barrages of rock n roll. The Who meets with Bowie, on a Friday, down the Cowley Road. numbernine shines a torchlight through the cold shell of modern living to the hope that glows on beneath. Songs for the soul - universal and unique.
